Learning and growing in one’s faith is a lifelong process of personal conversion to Jesus Christ and growing in intimacy with Him. As Catholic Christians, we have a rich heritage of doctrine, sacred art, architecture, sacred music and the saints to assist us in this venture.
Here at Saint Vincent de Paul Church, we emphasize the priority of formation of adults, since adults have the greatest responsibility and capacity to live the Christian message. Parents especially have a sacred responsibility to hand on the Faith to their children. All adults, at whatever stage in life, are called to grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord Jesus each day. We invite you to get involved in one or more of our many opportunities to grow in your relationship with Christ and His holy Church!
Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, has called for the entire Church around the world to celebrate a special “Year of Faith.” It will begin October 11, 2012, the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and the twentieth anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It will end on the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Universal King, on November 24, 2013. The starting date also marks the twentieth anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. See the “Year In Faith” link for more details (SVDP/Adult Formation/Year In Faith).
